To lead and manage site teams in the successful delivery of electrical installations, ensuring works are completed on time and within budget. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and organising installation activities and labour resources in line with project priorities. Working closely with project managers, site engineers and subcontractors to maintain programme and quality standards. Managing the procurement of materials, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and actively overseeing and enforcing site health and safety to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate project and service activities, allocating teams effectively to meet priorities, deadlines, and operational requirements.
• Arrange and manage specialised works in accordance with applicable standards, including the procurement of materials, equipment, and resources as required.
• Deliver specialised works to the required standards, ensuring the appropriate use of materials, equipment, and resources.
• Supervising teams to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
• Compile, maintain, and review project and compliance records in line with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and legislation.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and all other applicable statutory and company requirements.
• Proactively address incidents or operational issues, implementing corrective actions to minimise disruption and resolve problems effectively.
• Liaise with customers to understand expectations, maintain clear communication, and support appropriate customer involvement throughout delivery.

Essential requirements

• Proven working experience in electrical installations, site supervision and site management within the automation controls systems sector.
• Good working knowledge of the automation industry.
• Good working knowledge of electrical standards.

• Qualified electrician
• Test and inspection qualification (preferred not required)

• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Site and office based work experience.

Due to significant growth DACS are recruiting For a Panel Wiremen/Tester at our Stoke-On-Trent, Burslem site.

Key Responsibilities

• Panel Assembly and Wiring: Assemble electrical components (PLCs, relays, contactors, VSDs, terminal blocks) in accordance with electrical schematics, layout drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
• UL Compliance: Apply UL 508A and other applicable UL standards for wiring techniques, component selection, and clearance to ensure the panel meets UL certification requirements.
• Component Mounting: Drill, tap, cut, and prepare backplates and enclosures to mount components safely.
• Wiring/Termination:  Perform point-to-point wiring, crimping, cable routing, and wire management (looming) to a high standard.
• Testing and Inspection: Conduct functional tests, continuity checks, insulation resistance tests (Megger testing), and final voltage checks to ensure performance.
• Documentation: Complete documentation such as build checklists, UL test reports, and quality records.
• Trouble Shooting:  Identify design errors or wiring faults and perform repairs to resolve functionality issues. 

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience as a Panel Wirer, Electrical Assembler, or similar role in electrical manufacturing.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and CAD Drawings
• Certifications: Technical or vocational training (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
• UL Knowledge: Familiarity with UL 508A standards is highly desirable.
• Skills: Skilled in using hand tools (crimpers, strippers), power tools, and testing equipment like multimeters.
• Attention to Detail: High level of precision in wiring and cable management

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Maintenance & Repair: Performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electromechanical equipment to ensure production lines run efficiently.
• Installation: Installing heavy-duty electrical systems, control panels, motors, and lighting.
• Troubleshooting: Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve electrical faults and machinery issues promptly.
• System Upgrades: Installing and servicing programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation systems, and high-access lighting.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work meets strict health, safety, and industry regulations (e.g., G39, safety legislation).
• Documentation: Reading, interpreting blueprints, circuit diagrams, and completing inspection reports

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience:Proven experience as a Electrician

• Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and CAD Drawings
• Certifications: Technical or vocational training (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
• UL Knowledge: Familiarity with UL 508A standards is highly desirable.
• Attention to Detail: High level of precision in wiring and cable management
• Customer Skills: This role will be predominantly based on our customer site, so a strong knowledge of communication is required
• Supervision: You will be expected to mentor and guide an apprentice

Due to significant growth DACS are recruiting four Controls Engineers, based in the Midlands.

You will be working from our office or on site near to the Birmingham NEC.

The role will be working in the automotive industry and the successful candidate must have experience with this type of automation, primarily conveyor system controls.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Controls Engineer located predominately in the Midlands.  The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for a manufacturing process.  The Controls Engineer will also work closely with other engineering teams to ensure that the project is integrated effectively and within budget.

Qualifications

Degree/ONC/HNC

• Or higher in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, Siemans, or equivalent).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software (Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated expertise in control system design, development, and maintenance.
• Excellent knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus or equivalent).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan or other electrical design software
• Ability to work effectivity in a team environment and communicate ideas and solutions effectively.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
